Baxter Morgan is an associate with Gjerset & Lorenz, LLP. Mr. Morgan's practice focuses on representation of health care providers in litigation, regulatory, and transactional matters.

Representative Experience

  • Representing health care providers in litigation against insurance companies engaging in systematic underpayment of reimbursement claims
  • Assisting with the creation, development and operation of Medicaid supplemental payment programs in Texas and numerous other states
  • Advising health care providers regarding agreements with governmental entities, contractors, and insurance companies regarding provision of services, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance
  • Successfully represented a physician group in a contract dispute with a former service provider over termination of their agreement

Professional Background
Prior to joining Gjerset & Lorenz, LLP, Mr. Morgan gained extensive experience as an associate with an Austin-based civil litigation firm, representing individuals, businesses, and municipalities in a wide range of civil cases involving contract disputes, employment issues, negligence claims, commercial and residential real estate disputes, legal and professional malpractice defense, insurance coverage, land use, and personal injuries. Mr. Morgan also previously served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Texas Office of the Attorney General, representing the state in constitutional challenges to state-felony convictions litigated in federal court.
