Tyler Profilet is an associate with Gjerset & Lorenz, LLP. Mr. Profilet’s practice focuses on the representation of healthcare providers in transactional, reimbursement, and regulatory matters, with a focus on Medicaid supplemental reimbursement programs. He has experience representing providers in several states, including Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Georgia.
Mr. Profilet assists in developing innovative strategies to support clients in arriving at the best regulatory and financial outcome in light of reimbursement concerns. His transactional experience includes drafting physician employment agreements, indigent care agreements, management agreements, asset purchase agreements, and corporate documents related to hospital acquisitions. He also has experience negotiating and drafting contracts between non-profit corporations and healthcare providers and assisting clients with understanding the projected financial outcomes of the transactions. As part of his transactional work, Mr. Profilet has experience incorporating and constructing mechanisms to protect existing and create new Medicaid financing sources and payment streams.
Mr. Profilet also advises hospitals and governmental entities in the development, implementation, and operation of Medicaid supplemental reimbursement programs, including assisting hospitals in obtaining additional payments from Medicaid managed care organizations for services provided to Medicaid managed care beneficiaries. Mr. Profilet’s regulatory experience includes advising hospitals regarding Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) funding qualification, compliance, audits, and hospital provider taxes. He also advises clients regarding the effects of legislative and regulatory proposals that impact Medicaid reimbursement.
Before joining Gjerset & Lorenz, LLP, Mr. Profilet worked with the in-house counsel at Time Inc. in New York City. Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Profilet worked as a television journalist for KFVS-TV and as a multimedia journalist for the athletic department at the University of Notre Dame.
