Gjerset & Lorenz is dedicated to making healthcare more accessible to vulnerable communities throughout the United States. In our practice, we assist hospitals in our home state of Texas, as well as approximately forty (40) other states in all regions of the United States, in designing charity care programs that make free or discounted services available to low-income patients and patients whose medical bills consume an excessive share of family resources.

Our firm roots have been planted in Austin for more than a quarter of a century. Our team includes lifelong Austinites, people who adopted the city many years ago, and young professionals who are enjoying Austin as their new home. In recognition of that philanthropic spirit, the firm routinely matches employees’ individual contributions, provides paid time off for charitable volunteering, and makes direct charitable contributions to a variety of organizations, most of which are selected by team members. Some areas of giving that reflect our firm and team’s values are health and wellbeing, economic justice, human rights and equity, animal advocacy, children’s advocacy, and arts and culture.
